Ships of imported sugar, wheat start arriving in Pakistan

To overcome the flour and sugar crisis in the country, more wheat and sugar imported by the government have started arriving in Pakistan.
The fourth ship of wheat imported by Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) carrying 52,170 MT of wheat anchored at Port Qasim while another 50,000 MT of sugar will reach Pakistan on Saturday.
It is expected that the arrival of imported sugar will help overcome the sugar shortage in the country.
According to TCP officials, out of the total wheat imported this month, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has so far picked up 110,000 metric tonnes of wheat, while the Punjab government has also collected 56,457 metric tonnes of wheat from imported wheat.
According to officials, the wheat coming from the fourth ship will be taken by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.
According to TCP, another ship carrying 50,000 metric tonnes of imported sugar is arriving in Karachi today. A ship carrying 25,000 metric tonnes of sugar has been offloaded with 3,500 metric tonnes of sugar.
The imported sugar will be handed over to the Punjab government. Which will be sold below the market rate.
