The Singapore-based Pakistani filmmaker, Shehzad Hameed Ahmad has won Green Image award for his documentary ‘Pakistan’s Himalayan Meltdown’ at the 8th Green Image Film Festival held in Tokamachi City, Japan.
A total of 177 films were submitted from around the world. However, the jury consisting of members from Hitotsubashi University and the National Film Archive of Japan selected only 12 films.
The film maker took the achievement of his film screening, on Twitter and stated, “My documentary ‘Pakistan’s Himalayan Meltdown’ screens in Japan that investigates how dwindling water supply from melting glaciers can cause environmental and geopolitical problems.”
Shehzad had also won the Best Documentary award for his film ‘Bangladesh’s Delta Disaster’ at the Tagore International Film Festival 2021.
