Shehzad Akbar says Islamabad ranked among 100 safe cities in the world

KARACHI: Special Assistant to Prime Minister for Accountability Shehzad Akbar has said that Islamabad is ranked among the ‘100 safe cities in the world.’

Speaking to media sources on Friday, Akbar said the Islamabad police is carrying out its duty with honesty and resilience.

He said the government appreciates the role of the police in maintaining peace in the capital.

He added the sacrifices of police personnel are looked towards with respect by the people.

“We faced the cancer of increasing terrorism,” Akbar remarked.

The special assistant said that the Islamabad police played an important role in maintaining peace and providing security even on the visit of the royal couple.

He pointed out that the government is securing efforts to facilitate and extend cooperation to the police department. “We will take steps to improve the service delivery of Islamabad police.”
