Shehbaz Sharif blames investigation team for harassing him

LAHORE: Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly and Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) president Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday accused the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA)’s investigation team of harassment.
Shehbaz Sharif, while appearing before the court, said that the FIA investigation team treated him inappropriately and they talked to him in vain.
“I could not put up with the behaviour of the FIA investigation team and I stood up and asked, ‘Why are you doing this to me?’ But the FIA officers kept laughing and making fun of me,” he said.

The PML-N leader said that he lost billions of rupees of his family in sugar mills while he served the widows and the poor people of Punjab. “I opposed family members and gave cheap sugar to the people,” he said.
“Before my government came, there was a 20-hour load shedding while agriculture sector businesses and factories were closed,” he said. He said that he had installed cheap power plants in collaboration with China.
“After the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) cases, now the same cases have been handed over to me by the FIA and I am accused of taking commissions in the projects,” he said adding that he had replied to the FIA.
