Shehbaz, Hamza’s indictments establish that all accusations were right: PM’s advisor
LAHORE: Adviser to the Prime Minister on Accountability and Interior Barrister Mirza Shahzad Akbar on Wednesday said Leader of the Opposition Shehbaz Sharif and his son Punjab Assembly opposition leader Hamza Shehbaz’s indictments had establish that all accusations against them were right.
“The court indicted them on three offences including assets beyond means of income, money laundering and bribery,” Shahzad Akbar said while addressing media in Islamabad.
Shehbaz Sharif has refused to accept the accusations. He said the case against him was based on ill-intentions. He said the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) could not furnish any evidence against him so far. Shehbaz Sharif claimed that not a corruption even worth single penny was proven against him.
“The case is an example of political revenge. Even high courts have been ruling against the NAB now. The accountability bureau has become an institute of political engineering,” he said in his defense.
While, the adviser to the prime minister on accountability said that the illegal money was sent by the Pakistan Muslim League-N leaders through fraud which was known as money laundering.
“The NAB is working to bring absconder Tahir Naqvi back. On whose name, Waqar Trading company was established,” he said.
Shahzad Akbar said the process of declaring Nusrat Shehbaz an absconder was underway. He said Mushtaq Cheeni was owner of Mushtaq and Co who has become approver against the PML-N president. He had admitted that his company served as a front company for Shehbaz Sharif, he added.
