KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) has declared 2018 exams of the Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) null and void.
There are also various misleading posts circulating about the judgment of the Hyderabad Bench of SHC related to the SPSC exam which claim that results of all the exams from 2018 to till now have been cancelled. However, as per the written verdict of the high court, only Combined Competitive Exam 2018 as well as 1,783 posts of doctors, who were hired without written test, have been cancelled.
In Dec 2019, the SHC had issued notices to the SPSC and other stakeholders in a plea challenging the 2018 examination results.
The plaintiff said that the exam was mismanaged and manipulated by the SPSC chairman and officials to select people on the basis of favouritism. He said he was not only a candidate of the exam but an employee of the SPSC as well and he was not satisfied with the selection procedure.
“The results and proceedings ensued in respect of the Combined Competitive Examination 2018 are set aside and cancelled,” read the judgement.
It also said that results of the 1,783 posts of medical officers and women medical officers (BPS-17) purported to be appointed through advertisement dated 19-07-2018 are cancelled.
