SHC advises Sindh govt to review notification banning pillion rides
The Sindh High Court urged the provincial government to review its notification about the ban on riding pillions.
Public transport was shut down. Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar asked about how people will travel now that the shutdown has been eased.
In such difficult times, the judge said the decisions would be taken sensibly.
Journalist Umair Anjum challenged the ban on April 22.
On April 18, the Sindh home ministry released a notification banning pillion riding in the province, the petition says, adding that it has been said it does not extend to journalists, women and children.
Journalists are working very hard on reporting about the coronavirus spread to raise awareness among the masses. The ban has violated our human rights, the petitioner said.
