ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Wednesday said that he wanted to lodge an FIR against Prime Minister Imran Khan at Shahdra police station in Lahore.
The senior Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) leader said this in response to the treason and sedition case filed against former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and top leadership of the PML-N, while addressing media in Islamabad.
He said the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) government had started distributing treason certificates to the opposition leaders.
The man who had filed the FIR against the PML-N leaders was later found to have had links with the PTI leadership.

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that he was not concerned about the legal debate on the treason case which mentioned big names including PM of Azad and Jammu Kashmir. However, he said that he was amazed at the dutiful SHO of the police station who approved filing of the FIR against former prime ministers, ministers and MNAs in the late night.
He said he also wanted to file a case against PM Imran Khan for he had seen that former Federal Investigation Agency director general had in an interview said that Imran Khan had directed him to file treason cases against PML-N leaders.
“This shows who is behind all the fake treason cases,” he said.
To the claims of PTI ministers that the premier did not know of the case, he said PM Imran even did not know that wheat flour was being sold at Rs70 and Rs85 per kg in the country.
“He is oblivious of the fact that he has ruined the economy. He does not know that the CPEC has come to a standstill. He is unaware that sugar is being sold at more than Rs110 per kg. He is unaware that he has taken so much foreign loan in two years that the PML-N and PPP government in their 10 years did not take,” he said mockingly.
