Pakistani pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi has equalled former fast bowler Wasim Akram’s record in Test cricket as the former got to 50 wickets in as many Tests as the latter.
According to details, Wasim Akram had taken 50 scalps in 16 Test matches, so Shaheen has also taken as many wickets in the same number of Test matches.
Shaheen needed only 2 wickets to equal the record when Pakistan began match against Zimbabwe on Apr 29. He took four wickets to achieve the milestone.
Yasir Shah is the fastest Pakistani bowler to grab 50 wickets in 9 Test matches, while Waqar Younis had accomplished this feat in 12 matches.
Earlier this month, Shaheen Shah Afridi had become the second fastest bowler for Pakistan to take 50 wickets in 25 ODI matches, only one more than Hasan Ali.
