SHEIKHUPURA: Seven members of a family were killed after roof of their house collapsed in Ferozewala tehsil of Sheikhupura.

Rescue 1122 sources said the deceased included husband, wife and five children. The victim kids have been identified as Baitullah, 5, Abdullah, 7, Aleesha, 10, Bisma, 13, and Muqaddas, 16. While, the parents have been identified as Kamran, 40, and Kosar, 35.

The incident took place at night while the family was asleep. They were living in one portion of the two-storey house.

The rescue team had reached the site of the incident early morning and recovered the corpses from under the debris. The bodies were rushed to a hospital for postmortem examination. The rescue team members said the roof caved in because of heavy rains in Punjab.

Massive rains battered different cities in the province on Tuesday. The life came to a standstill. Electricity supply to most of the areas was suspended. Several people were killed and 113 others received injuries in different rain-related incidents.
