Owing to the increase in COVID-19 infections, the Punjab Health Department and Lahore District administration have suggested sealing seven major Lahore localities for at least two weeks.
These are Gulshan-e-Ravi, Gulberg, DHA, Garden Town, Model Town, Faisal Town and the city center.
If sealed, these areas will be patrolled by police and rangers and deployed at all routes of entry and exit to ensure that no resident heads out unnecessarily.
A cabinet committee for the coronavirus in Punjab, and the home department will give the final go-ahead on the matter.
Those communities reported 3,613 cases of coronavirus. There are 96,223 houses in total and there live 233,000 families, or 1,69 million people.
Since 17 June, fifty localities in Lahore have been in lockdown.
Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid has declared the city an epicenter of coronavirus.
