Serious Spat between Hamad Azhar and Pervaiz Khatak
Islamabad: The internal story of the parliamentary party meeting chaired by the Prime Minister came to light. Bitter words were exchanged between Federal Minister for Energy Hamad Azhar and Defense Minister Pervez Khattak in the meeting today.
According to sources the parliamentarians’ session was ongoing for the Finance bill 2022 in which Azhar and Khatak started spat on shortage of Sui Gas and Electricity.
Khatak added, “I want to place my concerns in your presence. We have planned some schemes to resolve the problem of Sui Gas, when will those schemes accomplished?”
According to sources, Hamad Azhar started talking about gas situation in 2011, to which Pervez Khattak snapped, “Don’t tell stories, tell me when gas will be available.” Hammad Azhar replied, “I am telling you the same thing, even if you listen.”
Sources said that Pervez Khattak stood on his seat three times in the meeting. Pervez Khattak along with Hamad Azhar also strongly criticized Shaukat Tareen. He said that Hamad Azhar has no knowledge of gas and electricity issues and Shaukat Tareen could not satisfy us even in the cabinet.
Defense Minister Pervez Khattak told Prime Minister Imran Khan that you have seated unelected people around, I am leaving here, saying that Pervez Khattak boycotted the meeting. On this occasion, the Prime Minister said that I am fighting the war of the country, I have no personal interest, my efforts are for the sake of national interest.
When Defense Minister Pervez Khattak left the meeting, he returned shortly after, according to sources, bringing Federal Minister Murad Saeed, Pervez Khattak back.
In this regard, Pervez Khattak has stated that he has not had any spat with Hamad Azhar, he had even talked about a long standing issue (gas crisis) in the meeting.
The Defense Minister said that he had gone to smoke cigarettes.
