Senior politicians’ comments about Corps Commander Peshawar are inappropriate: ISPR

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Thursday that the recent statements of senior politicians regarding Peshawar Corps Commander are highly inappropriate.
A statement issued by ISPR said that Peshawar Corps is a prominent formation of Pakistan Army and the leadership of this important corps has always been entrusted to the best professionals.
ISPR has said that the recent statements of senior politicians regarding the Peshawar Corps Commander are highly inappropriate. Senior national political leadership is expected to refrain from making controversial statements against the institution.
ISPR said that Peshawar Corps has been playing a leading role in the war on terror for over two decades. These statements may have negative effect on the morale and dignity of the soldiers and the leadership.
Notably, former ISI Chief Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed is currently the Corps Commander Peshawar.
