Senior Journalist Imran Riaz Khan arrested
Senior journalist Imran Riaz Khan, the most vocal critic of the ruling coalition, was arrested near the outskirts of Islamabad.
Imran Riaz Khan’s lawyer Mian Ali Ashfaq has confirmed his arrest and said that Imran Riaz has been arrested when he was heading to Islamabad in connection with a treason case registered against him in Attock.
Mian Ali Ashfaq said that 17 treason cases have been registered against Imran Riaz Khan across Punjab.
Punjab Law Minister Malik Ahmad Khan said that Imran Riaz Khan has been arrested from Attock District, Rawalpindi Division.
He said that cases have been registered against Imran Riaz Khan in Punjab. He has been arrested from within the limits of Punjab. The impression that arrest has been made from Islamabad is wrong.
In a recent video on his Youtube channel, the journalist had directly addressed Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa and alleged that he was threatened after asking questions from military sources about the country’s current political and economic situation.
