Senior doctor at Peshawar’s HMC passes away due to coronavirus

PESHAWAR: A senior physician working at Hayatabad Medical Complex in Peshawar passed away on Saturday due to health problems caused by coronavirus.
Professor Dr Mohammad Javed had caught the coronavirus a week ago, according to hospital director Dr Shahzad Faisal.
Dr. Javed, who was also an ENT expert, was placed on a ventilator, but could not survive as his condition worsened.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has reported more than 1,700 coronavirus cases so far, with 89 deaths — the highest death toll in Pakistan.
On April 23, a document revealed that the coronavirus in KP infected 30 health employees, including doctors.
Of the medical staff who contracted the COVID-19 virus, 14 were doctors, 5 paramedics, and 11 other health professionals.
