QUETTA: A case has been registered against Senator Sarfaraz Bugti for attacking a paramilitary force “Balochistan Levies” at a checkpost in Chacha area, Barkhan district of Balochistan.

According to the FIR, Bugti’s gunmen fired after a verbal spat with Levies force when they discovered the checkpost. The case has been registered against the senator and his six gunmen in local levies police station.

It is written in the FIR that Bugti demanded the removal of the checkpost which was established to curb the incidents related to robbery, Upon getting response in negative, Bugti’s men started using abusive language before attacking the levies by firing bullets indiscriminately. However, the levies personnel reportedly hid themselves inside due to which no casualty or injury occurred.

While according to local media, Senator Sarfaraz has so far denied the charges and termed the case as ‘politically influenced’. Bugti has held the provincial home ministry in the previous government led by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz.
