Security Plan finalized for the second phase of PSL 7 at Lahore

LAHORE: The security plan for the matches under the second phase of the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) was finalized at a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Law and Order at the Civil Secretariat on Tuesday.

The meeting was chaired by Punjab Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Raja Basharat and was attended by Provincial Ministers Ansar Majeed Niazi, Rai Taimoor Bhatti and senior civil and police officers.

During the meeting, Raja Basharat said that PSL players and officials would be accorded guest status in the city.

The law minister said that a final rehearsal would be held by the Lahore district administration and police before the matches on February 4 and 6, after which a security plan would be implemented in the city from February 7.

Raja Basharat directed the concerned authorities to make CCTV cameras fully operational in the vicinity of Gaddafi Stadium Lahore and in the parking areas during PSL matches.

Lahore will host 19 PSL matches including the playoffs starting from February 10.

The meeting also approved giving special powers to special price magistrates.

Law Minister Basharat directed all price magistrates to ensure implementation of government price lists, adding that deputy commissioners should regularly monitor the performance of price magistrates.

It is to be noted that the second phase of the event in Lahore will start from February 10, for which preparations have been started in and around Nishtar Park Sports Complex, where cleaning and renovation work is underway.

Additional lights around the stadium, parking lot signs and roads are being painted, while traffic lines have been installed and sidewalks have been painted.
