Security forces killed 25 terrorists in Bannu CTD operation: DG ISPR

Pakistan Army commandos has killed 25 terrorists during an operation to free anti-terrorism police officers who were held hostage inside a Counter-Terrorism Department’s (CTD) compound in Bannu, DG ISPR Maj-Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry confirmed.
Talking to private news channel, Pakistan Army spokesman said that 35 terrorists were under investigation in the CTD compound in Bannu, while one terrorist overpowered a CTD officer, snatched his weapon and released his other militants.
He further informed that terrorists took control of the seized weapons in the warehouse of the CTD compound and martyred two CTD officers.
Maj-Gen Sharif said the security forces have warned terrorists to surrender unconditionally but the militants wanted a safe exit to Afghanistan.
While sharing the details of clearance operation he said: “As they were not ready to surrender, security forces initiated an operation against the terrorists and killed 25 terrorists.”
“Seven militants were arrested during the operation,” he added.
The bodies of the terrorists were transported to the nearby military hospital in Bannu, a garrison town where the prison compound was located.
“We are determined to root out terrorism and will not hesitate to make any sacrifice in the fight against terrorism,” DG ISPR said.
