 Security forces kill 7 terrorists in Bannu, North Waziristan

Security forces have killed seven terrorists in Jani Khel area of Bannu district and Hassan Khel area of North Waziristan district in two separate Intelligence Based Operations (IBOs).

A statement issued by the Pakistan Army Public Relations department (ISPR) said that security forces in Jani Khel area of ​​Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Bannu district and Hassan Khel district of North Waziristan were conducting intelligence operations.

Seven terrorists were killed in the exchange of fire during the operation, five in Jani Khel area of ​​Bannu district and two in Hassan Khel area of ​​North Waziristan district.

Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the slain terrorists, according to ISPR.

A statement issued by the Pakistan Army further said that the slain terrorists were involved in terrorist activities against the security forces.

The ISPR said that the locals of the area appreciated the operation and expressed their full support for eradicating the scourge of terrorism from the area.

Earlier on May 17, 2022, the security forces had carried out an operation on the basis of a tip-off in Mir Ali area of ​​North Waziristan District where a terrorist, identified as Muhammad Altaf, was killed during an exchange of fire.

The ISPR had said that arms and ammunition were recovered from the possession of the slain terrorist.
