Following the announcement last week of a film about Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who died from suicide on 14 June, another is reportedly in the works, Hindustan Times confirmed.
This second film, titled Sushant, is going to be directed by filmmaker Sanoj Mishra, who said it is not going to be a biopic. According to Mishra, the film is “the story of those who struggle to Mumbai in the hope of fulfilling their dream.
This film will be the story of all those who are forced to take harsh steps in Bollywood due to harassment. This film will be produced under the banner of Road Production and Sanoj Mishra Films and will be shot in Mumbai and Bihar,” he said in a statement.
Mishra also stated how it was the ideal time to make the film because most of the talent of Bihar had returned from Mumbai to Bihar amid the coronavirus pandemic. He listed how “the cinema industry in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh has been a golden opportunity to create.”
Mishra has worked previously on films such as Lafange Nawab, Gandhigiri and Srinagar.
The film previously announced is going to be titled Suicide Or Murder? – Vijay Shekhar Gupta has lost a star and will be run by Shamik Maulik
Speaking about this venture, Gupta explained, “The film is not Sushant’s biopic. It is inspired by his life and work. We are writing the script. It will be based on thorough research of the star’s life, and we will be talking to a lot of other actors who are considered ‘outsiders’ in the industry.”
