A group of scientists have discovered 98 million years old fossils in Argentina, which they believe is of the largest dinosaur ever found.
According the National University of La Matanza’s CTYS scientific agency, the fossilized bones could belong to Titanosaurs, a sauropod family of dinosaurs including some of the largest terrestrial animals to ever walk on Earth.
The Sauropods tended to have long neck, long tail and have been considered to be the largest animal on the earth. They are herbivorous.
Moreover, Such dinosaurs were lean towards eating less meat. They managed to grow to the full size. As per the researchers, their fossils have been found in all continents except Antarctica. They suggest that more digging in the area will likely reveal more fossils.
However, Alejandro Otero of Argentina’s Museo de La Plata has been working on assembling together a likeness of the new dinosaur from the other two-dozen vertebrae and bits of pelvic bone discovered in 2012.
