 School teacher terminated for thrashing student with scale

A teacher of Educators school in Muzaffarabad, Sobia, has been accused of thrashing a student with wooden scale.

According to the details on social media, Meher Ali was beaten by his teacher Sobia for having fun and not maintaining discipline in the class.

The pictures of the child are doing rounds on social media, which show marks of torture on his face.

While talking to Dialogue Pakistan, Meher Ali’s mother said her son was imitating his teacher which made the whole class laugh and for this reason the teacher hit Meher on face with a scale.

On the other hand, Principal of Educators city campus, Muzzaffarabad, told Dialogue Pakistan that Meher Ali was passing paper chits comprising WhatsApp number through which he asked his classmates to contact him, upon which the teacher scolded him. As soon as the teacher turned back after censuring him, the child started imitating the teacher which prompted the students to laugh hysterically.

However, the principal has denied the usage of scale while beating him. While, she also said that the act Sobia opted cannot be justified in any case.

The teacher has been terminated from her services at the school, whereas the school administration and the teacher herself have apologized from family of the kid.

Moreover, Meher Ali’s mother has stated that she has no personal grudge against the teacher and terminating the teacher would not make any difference.

This needs to STOP! Enough of this brutality in the name of enforcing discipline
