School teacher arrested for raping minor student in Karachi
The Karachi police arrested a school teacher for allegedly raping a 14-year-old student in Surjani Town area of Karachi.
SSP (West) Captain (retd) Faizan Ali told that a case has been registered against the teacher, who allegedly raped the girl, on the complaint of the victim’s family.
The SSP said that the investigators were waiting for the medical examination report of the victim girl on the basis of which further investigation will be conducted.
In the first information report, the victim’s parents have stated that their daughter was drugged by the teacher after which she was taken to an empty plot near Khuda Ki Basti area and sexually assaulted.
Police surgeon Dr. Summaiya Syed informed that the victim girl was medically examined in the medical section of Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
In her statement before the medico-legal officer, the victim girl said that, for the past two months, the suspect teacher was giving her an unknown intoxicants in drinks and through injection.
“The teenager girl was on leave from school for the past 10 days,” Summaiya said.
Dr. Summaiya Syed further informed that no sexual or physical injuries were found during the examination of the victim, adding that blood and other samples have been collected for chemical analysis, seminal serology and DNA.
Meanwhile, Provincial Minister Shehla Raza took notice of the incident and asked for details.
The provincial minister directed the police to immediately conduct a medical examination of the victim and said that, “if the rape is proved, strict legal action should be taken against the suspect.”
Shehla Raza while talking to the parents of teenager girl gave them full assurance of justice. She added that rape laws should be made stricter as ‘habitual sex offenders’ do not deserve any exemption.
