SC directs Chief Commissioner Islamabad to provide space for PTI’s Azadi March

The Supreme Court of Pakistan has directed the government to provide an alternate place for PTI’s Azadi March towards Islamabad.
According to details, a case related to road blockade and arrests of PTI’s workers was being heard in the Supreme Court.
Justice Ijazul Ahsan in a conversation with the Chief Commissioner Islamabad asked to provide a suitable place for the PTI’s long march. A traffic plan should be drawn up to give the protesters access to the Long March.
SC’s Justice Ijazul Ahsan directed the Islamabad chief commissioner to prepare a traffic plan for the PTI rally and submit a report after compliance with orders by 2:30pm.
“The administration should present a complete plan of action which allows the protest, but keeps roads open so that the protesters can reach peacefully and go back home afterwards,” Justice Ahsan said.
The judge sought assurance from the authorities that there won’t be any violence and roads will not be closed.
