Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz has been admitted to King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Riyadh for a medical examination.

The British news agency Reuters quoted the Saudi Press Agency as saying that Shah Salman was admitted to the hospital on Monday morning due to inflammation of the leaf.

According to the report, a statement issued from the royal palace said that Shah Salman was admitted to King Faisal Specialist Hospital for medical examination.

Shah Salman took over the throne after the death of former ruler Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz in January 2015. He was crowned after the death of Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz about two years earlier.

Shah Salman has also served as governor of the Saudi capital, Riyadh, for 50 years.

Shah Salman’s son and Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman has also introduced a number of economic reforms in the country to limit the Saudi economy’s dependence on oil.
