Saudi Arabia thwarts ‘Houthi’ rebel attacks on oil installations
According to the Arab News Agency, a statement issued by Saudi Arabia said that an attempt was made to attack the oil facilities in the southwestern city of Jizan near the Yemeni border, which was thwarted by the forces.
The Saudi Ministry of Energy confirmed that the attack was foiled, saying that the forces destroyed two boats loaded with explosives on Wednesday evening.
According to Saudi media, the operation of the forces resulted in a limited fire in the oil supply lines which was brought under control immediately but no casualties were reported as a result.
The Saudi government strongly condemned the attacks on oil facilities, saying that such a criminal act targeted not only Saudi Arabia but also central facilities.
