Sardar Tanveer Ilyas elected unopposed PM of Azad Kashmir
Muzaffarabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Sardar Tanveer Ilyas has been elected unopposed as the 14th Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir.
Voting for the Azad Kashmir Prime Minister was scheduled to take place at half past one in the day, but the United Opposition boycotted the session for the election of the Prime Minister due to which there was no candidate against the PTI candidate.
Sardar Tanveer Ilyas from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had submitted nomination papers which were declared valid by the Secretary Assembly after which Sardar Tanveer Ilyas was elected unopposed as the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir.
On the other hand, when the opposition members walked out of the assembly, the PTI workers staged a protest, during which the workers chanted slogans and used harsh words.
Due to the protest of PTI workers, members of the united opposition returned to the assembly building and demanded the speaker to take notice of the situation.
Earlier, a no-confidence motion was filed against former Azad Kashmir Prime Minister Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi on which he dismissed five ministers after which he himself resigned from the post.
