Sarah Inam’s parents arrive from Canada for funeral

The parents of Sara Inam, who had been brutally killed by her husband Shahnawaz Amir with a dumbbell, have arrived in Islamabad from Canada to claim the body of their daughter and perform her last rites.

The Inam’s father, Engineer Inam-ur-Rehman, has reached Islamabad along with his wife.

Police sources said that Sarah Inam’s body will be handed over to her parents and the funeral prayers of the deceased will be offered after Zuhr on September 28 in Shahzad Town, Islamabad.

The case:

On September 23, Pakistani-Canadian national Sarah Inam Khan was brutally murdered by her husband Shahnawaz Amir, who is the son of renowned journalist Ayaz Amir, with a dumbbell at farmhouse in Islamabad.

Yesterday, Islamabad police presented senior journalist Ayaz Amir and his suspect son Shahnawaz Amir before senior civil judge in Islamabad’s local court.

Ayaz said to court that he personally informed police about the incident as he was in Chakwal at the time of murder.

Journalist said that he joined the investigation from the moment the police registered the case.

“The petitioners should show some evidence for the allegations levelled against me,” Ayaz added.

However, the Islamabad court extended Ayaz Amir’s physical remand by one-day and Shahnawaz Amir’s by three-day on the request of capital police.
