KARACHI: Special Assistant to Prime Minister for Information and Broadcasting Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that the sacrifices of the martyrs of the Army Public School incident will be remembered forever.
The special assistant was speaking at an event to pay tribute to the victims of the APS incident in Islamabad on Monday.
She said that December 16 holds immense significance for the people of Pakistan. She added that terrorists have been defeated and the Pakistan armed forces failed their nefarious designs.
Awan maintained that the memories of the APS incident are still alive in the minds of the people. She said that the government is making hopeful efforts to maintain peace and stability in the country.

The special assistant appreciated the efforts of the armed forces in eliminating the terrorists and bringing peace in the country.
On December 16, 2014, six terrorists belonging to the militant outfit Tehreek-i-Taliban attacked APS Peshawar in which 138 students and 17 staff members were martyred. All the six militants were killed in the operation.
The attack left several families in tremendous sorrow and the incident was deemed one of the worst in the history of the country.
Soon after the attack, the Armed Forces of Pakistan initiated an operation across the country to eliminate terrorists and militant groups in hope to bring about peace in the country.
