Russia: School shooting leaves several dead in Kazan
At least 11 people, including children and a teacher, have died after a school shooting incident in Kazan, Russia.
According to Russian media, the 19-year old gunman who is a former student at Secondary School, carried out the attack. The attacker had entered the school by its main entrance and started firing indiscriminately.
However, security agencies detained the attacker after the incident.
“Distressing footage distributed on social media shows schoolchildren jumping from the top floors to the ground below — and then, bloodied, receiving emergency first aid below,” The Independent reported.
Responding to the incident, President Vladimir Putin has ordered a review into the country’s public gun ownership.
