 Rules and regulations for Hajj 2020 announced

WEB DESK: The Saudi Arabian government has announced rules and regulations regarding Hajj 2020 rituals at Muzdalifah, Mina, Mount Arafat, Masjid ul Haram and stay of pilgrims around these revered places during all this time.

Pilgrims and Hajj staff will have to wear masks. Barbers will not be allowed to use tools used for cutting one pilgrim’s hair on another pilgrim. Pilgrims will have to maintain a distance of 2 meters while offering prayer. Pebbles would be provided in packets for performance of Rammi ritual. Those going for Tawaf at Mataf will be sent in groups. Pilgrims will have to maintain 1.5 meter distance during Tawaf.

As per new rules and regulations of Hajj, touching Khana e Ka’aba and Hajr e Aswad would not be allowed. Barriers and surveillance teams would be placed to stop pilgrims from touching them.

Bringing edible and drinking items into Masjid ul Haram is not allowed. Eating in the terrace will not be allowed. Disposable utensils would be used for water and food, and they would not be allowed to reuse. Specific number of pilgrims would be allowed to travel in a bus and none of them would be allowed to travel by standing in the bus.

According to the Saudi Arabian state news agency, from July 18 people will not be allowed to go to Mina, Muzdalifah and Arafat. Social distancing should be maintained while using lifts. Personal cleanliness should be ensured. Sanitisers will be placed on a prominent place.

Residential buildings, hotels and waiting areas will be continuously sanitized. Door handles, tables, chairs and sofas all will be sanitized properly. Those having symptoms of influenza, will not be allowed to perform any ritual.
