Ruet-e-Hilal Committee to meet today for Shawwal moon sighting

The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will meet today [Sunday] to observe the Shawwal moon in Pakistan.
The meeting of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will be held in Islamabad which will be chaired by Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad while the zonal committees will observe Shawwal moon in their respective areas.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department [PMD], there is no possibility of crescent moon sighting in the country today and Eid-ul-Fitr is likely to take place on Tuesday, May 3.
It is pertinent to mention here that moon has not been sighted in Saudi Arabia and different other parts of the world, hence they would observe 30 days of Ramadan.
Meanwhile, after nine witnesses were produced before them last night, the religious scholars of North Waziristan had announced to observe Eid on Sunday (today). They said they decided in this regard after deliberating over accepting or rejecting the testimony of the witnesses.
