The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is meeting today in Karachi to agree on the sighting of the Moon for or otherwise of Ramazan-ul-Mubarak 1441 Hijri.

Chairman of the Committee Mufti Munib-ur-Rehman will preside over the meeting.

The court has urged all people to look out for the crescent moon which marks the beginning of the fasting month, according to reports.

“Anyone who sights the moon through a telescope or the naked eye should inform the nearest court,” the court said.

If the moon is sighted on Thursday night, Sha’aban 30, then Friday is the first day of the Ramadan holy month.
