A central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee meeting, chaired by Mufti Munib-ur-Rehman, would be held Thursday in Karachi.

The meeting will decide the Ramadan-ul-Mubarak 1441 AH crescent sighting.

In addition, on Thursday evening, April 23, Saudi Arabia’s Supreme Court called on all Muslims to observe the Ramadan crescent.

The court has urged all people to look out for the crescent moon which marks the beginning of the fasting month, according to reports.

“Anyone who sights the moon through a telescope or the naked eye should inform the nearest court,” the court said.

If the moon is sighted on Thursday night, Sha’aban 30, then Friday is the first day of the Ramadan holy month.
