 Rs100 million worth of drugs seized in Peshawar

80 kilograms of crystal meth or famously known as ice drug was seized by Peshawar police during a raid in Hayatabad Phase II. It is being said as the biggest drugs bust by Peshawar police.

As per the reports, a gang of five suspects has been arrested by Peshawar police. Three of them belong to Quetta while two are migrants from neighbouring country Afghanistan. The detained suspects conducted their business by smuggling drugs from Afghanistan and then by selling them within the country as well as smuggling it outside of the country too.

CCPO Peshawar police, Abbas Ahsan confirmed on Twitter that this is one the biggest drug busts of ice by Peshawar police. As per CCPO, the crystal meth seized by the police is said to be worth Rs 100 million.

Digital scale to measure drugs and two vehicles also recovered from the possession of detained suspects. Naimatullah, Afzal Ahmed, Ishaq, Muhammad Shan and Muhammad Aqif are identified suspects in the drug bust.

Earlier in July, The Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) gas seized 1885.66 kilograms of narcotics worth 107.951 million dollars, arrested 30 culprits and impounded 15 vehicles while conducting 26 counter-narcotics strikes throughout the country.

According to a spokesperson, the seized drugs comprised of 18.72 kgs heroin, 1492.75 kgs hashish, 120 kgs opium, 1.040 kgs amphetamine (ice), 6,600 ecstasy tabs (3.850 kgs), 1.600 kgs suspected powder, 5,460 alparozlam tabs (1.500 kgs), 565,320 Xanax Tabs (134 kgs), 264,000 Valium Diazepam tabs (78 kgs), 83,760 Pinix Alprazlom tabs (26.5 kgs), 7.5 kgs Methamphetamine (ice) and 0.200 kgs ecstasy powder.

Last year, Pakistan Coast Guard seized 824 kilograms of hashish in Pasni district of Balochistan which is considered as one of the biggest drugs bust by Pakistan security personnel.

According to the spokesman, Pakistan Coast Guard personnel on a tip-off recovered 824 kg of high quality cannabis hidden in Shadi Kaur Siyahi Nalla in Pasni area.

The Director-General Pakistan Coast Guard appreciated the tireless work and high performance of the soldiers.

According to the spokesman, the seized drugs were to be smuggled abroad, but the Pakistan Coast Guard thwarted a major drug smuggling plot by taking timely action.
