Rs. 20 million snatched from Gold Smith in Karachi
Karachi: The incident of robbery of Rs. 20 million happened in the area of Shahrah-e-Faisal Karachi.
According to details, a goldsmith was leaving the Gold Trade Tower last night after receiving a sum of Rs 20 million.
The rickshaw was used by the goldsmith to carry the money. As soon as the goldsmith’s rickshaw reached near Mehran Hotel in Dawood Puta Road under bypass, unknown dacoits followed.
Four armed suspects on two motorcycles surrounded the rickshaw. At the request of the goldsmith, the rickshaw driver increased the speed of the rickshaw. Due to the speed, the rickshaw driver could not control the rickshaw and it overturned.
The robbers on motorcycles picked up a bag full of money and fled.
Upon receiving the information, the police reached the spot, took the injured goldsmith to the hospital. After medical aid, the goldsmith was shifted to Artillery Field Police Station.
Legal action is being taken in the police station according to the statement of goldsmith.
Police said that the victim was from Lahore. The goldsmith’s son Abu Bakar had come to Karachi to collect money.
