Robert Lewandowski wins FIFA’s best men’s player title for 2020
Polish footballer Robert Lewandowski, who plays for Germen club Bayern Munich, won the title of the best men’s player at the Best FIFA Football Awards in Zurich, Switzerland. He beat two acclaimed football legends Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
Lewandowski scored 55 goals in 47 appearances in the 2019-20 season. The 32-year-old football player has remained a top scorer in various tournaments.
Jurgen Klopp again won the award for best men’s coach for his contributions in leading Liverpool to win the title of English Premier League. Germen footballer Manuel Neuer, also from Bayern Munich, bagged the title of best man’s football goalkeeper.
In women’s football, an English footballer Lucy Bronze claimed the title, who beat Wendie Renard and Pernille Harder to the award. Sarina Wiegman was named as best women’s coach while French player Sarah Bouhaddi got the title of best female goalkeeper.
The winners were decided by nominations from national team captains and head coaches, an online ballot of fans and 200 media representatives.
