Robbers raid cattle market in Karachi

KARACHI: Eight to 10 accused raided a cattle market in Brohi Goth Sector 9 area of Surjani Town and looted more than Rs 5 million by taking animal traders and buyers hostage.
Meanwhile, the security guards tried to apprehend the accused. The accused opened fire, injuring a security guard while the cow was killed and the accused fled the scene.
A spokesman for the Karachi police chief said police had cordoned off the area and launched a search after the incident.
Eyewitnesses said that the accused held the entire market hostage for 10 to 15 minutes and continued firing which spread panic in the market. The suspects also opened fire after looting, killing the victim, and slightly injuring a security guard, Muhammad Ali.
After the robbery, the accused opened fire and fled and police reached the spot 20 minutes after the incident
