Wicket-keeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan guided Pakistan to victory in the dead rubber match of three match T20I series against New Zealand in Napier on Tuesday.
He was caught out for 89 off 59 on second ball of the last over. Mohammad Hafeez (41) initially made a partnership with him after Haider Ali (11) was caught out on Kuggeleijn’s ball in the sixth over. Kuggeleijn also took scalp of Hafeez in 14th over.
Batting first, New Zealand put 173 for 7 on board against Pakistan in the dead rubber in Napier on Tuesday.
Thanks to Devon Conway (63), wicket-keeper Tim Seifert (35) and Glenn Phillips (31), the hosts managed to score a fighting total.
Faheem Ashraf clean bowled Seifert, skipper Kane Williamson (1) and James Neesham (2). Haris Rauf routed opener Martin Guptil for 19 and Conway.
In its third T20I cricket match against New Zealand, Pakistan won the toss and elected to field first. The Kiwis were already leading the series with 2-0 against the Green Shirts.
New Zealand claimed victory by 5 wickets in series’ first match while in the second match Pakistan cricket team was defeated by 9 wickets.
Pakistan introduced three key changes in the last match as Hussain Talat, Mohammad Hasnain and Iftikhar Ahmed replaced Abdullah Shafiqe, Wahab Riaz and Imad Wasim.
