Rising drug prices challenged in Lahore High Court

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has challenged the government for increasing the prices of medicines.
According to details, the increase in prices of medicines has been challenged in the Lahore High Court. The petition was filed in the Lahore High Court by Advocate Nadeem Sarwar, in which the federal and provincial governments and others have been made parties.
In the petition, the court has been asked to increase the prices of medicines is illegal as the people are already worried about inflation and unemployment.
It should be noted that two days ago, the federal cabinet had approved an increase in the prices of medicines, including fever, headache, heart disease, malaria, diabetes, antibiotics, abdominal pain, eyes, ears, teeth. Skin diseases, including blood infections, include postpartum medications.
Of these, 68 are local and 26 are imported. Pharmaceutical companies will not be allowed to raise prices further until June 2021. Drug Policy 2018 recommended an increase in the prices of these drugs.
