Rising cases of a mysterious disease shock Indian State, Andhra Pardesh
A mysterious illness has been reported from Eluru, a city in Andhra Pardesh, India. Researchers have found nickel and lead in blood samples of the affected patients.
As per the reports of the Indian media, over 600 people have been affected by the new mysterious disease, gradually holding its grip on the city’s population. The Chief Minister of the state, Jagan Mohan Reddy has ordered the concerned authorities to probe in to the matter.
The first case was reported on Saturday, 5 December. Nausea, convulsions and fainting have been observed as symptoms of the disease. The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi, has also reported traces of nickel and lead in blood samples of 25 victims out of the 45 samples sent by the state government.
However, the researchers have so far found no proper clue to identify the source behind the new illness which is expected to be due to the contamination of drinking water.
Andhra Pardesh is also facing health crisis as India is the country with second highest number of Covid-19 cases after the United States.
