Retired Vice Admiral Syed Arifullah Hussaini dies from Covid-19

Vice Admiral (R) Arifullah Hussaini has passed away from coronavirus in Karachi on Thursday. The deceased was a retired three-star rank admiral and Fleet Commander in the Pakistan Navy.
Former Navy official was admitted in PNS Shifa hospital where he took his last breath after diagnosing with Covid-19 disease.
Born in April 1961 into an Urdu-speaking family of Karachi , he attended a military boarding school in Jamshoro after which he was enrolled in Pakistan Naval Academy in Karachi where he was graduated.
Hussaini was commissioned as Sub-lieutenant in 1981. After receiving Masters degree and further trainings from China and US he was promoted to one-star rank in 2008. In 2014 Hussaini was promoted to three-star-rank as Vice Admiral and took over the command of Karachi, as COMKAR.
A year later in 2015 Hussaini was appointed as a senior fleet commander in Pakistan Navy. He was awarded with Hilal-e-Imtiaz and Tamgha-e-Basalat for his services to Pakistan.
Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Haider Zaidi has expressed grief and sorrow over the sad demise of Vice Admiral (R) Arifullah Hussaini. “In all my interactions with him, I found him to be a thorough gentleman and a passionate patriotic Pakistani,” Zaidi writes on his Twitter.
