Restoration of vandalised Hindu temple begins
The Punjab government has started the restoration and maintenance work at Ganesh Mandir– a Hindu temple vandalised in Bhong Town of Rahim Yar Khan.
Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday condemned the incident. The PM said the government would also restore the temple.
The premier’s remarks came following the vandalisation of Ganesh Mandir by a mob on Wednesday after a nine-year old Hindu boy was granted bail by a local court for allegedly urinating in a local seminary.
“I have already asked IG Punjab to ensure arrest of all culprits & take action against any police negligence,” the premier added.
Moreover, the Focal Person to Punjab Chief Minister, Azhar Mashwani later announced on social media that the restoration work had been started at the temple.
“Proceedings have been started to register FIRs against the accused. Rangers and police troops have also been deployed in the area,” the Focal Person wrote on Twitter.
While condemning the incident, Punjab CM Usman Buzdar sated that no one could be allowed to take laws in hands.
“The safety of minorities’ religious places is the responsibility of the state and the Punjab government will make sure of it at any situation,” the CM remarked while ordering the restoration of the vandalised Hindu temple.
