KARACHI: Many areas and roads were inundated again in the wake of devastating rains in Karachi, after the civil administration in cooperation with Pak Army, Rangers, Pak Navy and other civic and rescue agencies de-watered them.
Rain water was drained out from various localities in the city and traffic on almost all the roads in the city was restored until heavy rain pounded the megalopolis once again on Thursday. However, relief and rescue operation is still underway in some other areas of the provincial metropolis.
Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa has directed Karachi Corps to step up flood relief operations to assist affected people due to recent rains in interior Sindh and Karachi. “Troops must reach out to affected population in distress and extend all necessary care,” the COAS said.
