LONDON: Former second wife of Prime Minister Imran Khan, Reham Khan has sought £30,000 donations from people to fight a defamation case filed by Prime Minister’s Special Assistant Zulfi Bukhari.

Zulfi Bukhari has sued Reham at the London High Court over accusations made by her in a social media post that Zulfi had personal interest in the alleged sale of Roosevelt Hotel in Manhattan. The news of the case was broken by the British-Pakistani journalist herself in a tweet.

“To fight for my right to talk about the Roosevelt Hotel case I will need the support of all my friends & followers against Zulfi Bukhari in the London High Court,” she wrote in a tweet. In three days, only seven people have donated 160 pounds through the crowd-funding link, despite the journalis’s having massive social media following.

The Roosevelt Hotel is owned by the Pakistan International Airlines and considered one of the finest national assets. On Dec 6 last year, Reham had made comments in an online livestream about the possible sale of the Roosevelt Hotel in Manhattan.
