For the first time in the last five years, the country’s water reserves have reached 13 million acre-feet.

According to Irsa, the water level in Tarbela Dam is only 6 feet below the extreme level and in Mangla Dam, it is 4 feet below the extreme level.

The total water storage has reached 13.02 million acre-feet, the storage capacity of the country is 13.61 million acre-feet.

According to Chairman Federal Flood Commission Ahmed Kamal, melting glaciers is increasing the inflow of water but there is no danger of floods in the country. Temperatures in Skardu have risen dramatically this year.

The chairman of the Federal Flood Commission said that Tarbela Dam had filled up to 70 feet in the last 18 days. The provinces will not face water shortage next year.
