Reconfiguration activity will affect Internet Speed on April 21, PTA

The Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) said that on April 21, consumers may face a decline in internet speeds.

The PTA said in a statement on Twitter that the power reconfiguration activity on a section of the international submarine cable SMW4 will be carried out on April 21, 2022 from 02:00 pm to 07:00 am, which may cause some Internet users to experience slow speeds.

⚙️A power reconfiguration activity on a section of international submarine cable, #SMW4, will be undertaken on 21st April 2022 from 02:00 AM to 07:00 AM. This may cause some internet users to experience downgraded speeds during the mentioned time only.

According to the PTA, alternative measures will be taken to meet the bandwidth requirement and provide fully functional and uninterrupted internet services to the customers as soon as possible.
