Rawalpindi Metro Bus employees protest against non-payment of salaries

The Metro Bus service’s ticketing employees in Rawalpindi came out on the streets and protested against non-release of two-month salaries on Monday.

They claimed that their employers have not paid them their wages ever since the coronavirus lockdown was imposed across the country and the transit service was shut down.

The employees shouted slogans and carried banners outside the administration building.

“Most of us boys are students living in hostels here,” an employee said. “If we are not paid, how will we pay for our expenses and also send money back home?”

On the other hand, the bus service administration denied that there was a problem in Rawalpindi, and blamed the delays on the Lahore office.
