Rapists should be castrated, demands PTI’s Faisal Vawda

KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf leader and Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda on Friday demanded from the legislators to enact a law stating that a rapist should be castrated.
“I urge all the parliamentarians to put aside politics and differences in this matter and move forward to agree on this legislation, after all it is a matter of honor and dignity of this country, it is a matter of mothers, sisters and daughters of all of us,” he said while addressing a press conference in Karachi. Grandfather of the minor girl who was rape and murdered recently was also present on this occasion.
Faisal Vawda said he raised voice for public hanging of rapists. The bill of castration should be passed against rapists after that we would try to get them hanged at roundabouts, he said.
He said strict punishments would create fear in rapists. Don’t worry about what westerners say, he maintained.
“We demand public hanging of rapists. A law should be made to announce verdict of the rape case in one month,” he said.
Taking a dig at human rights activists, he said he knew many so called champions of human rights would poke their noses into this matter. “They should fear the day when, God forbids, this happens with someone in their family,” he said.
