KARACHI: Rangers and police on Friday conducted joint search operations in three big jails of Sindh, viewing the threat of terrorism and recent terror incidents.
The Sindh Rangers spokesperson said that operation was conducted at Karachi Central Jail, Hyderabad and Sukker. Different wings of Rangers participated in the operation, he said.
He said prisoners, barracks and prison cells were searched in detail and the operation was conducted with the help of dogs and bomb disposal squad.
The spokesperson said that different banned items were recovered during search operation. He said TV sets, daggers, scissors, USB, memory cards, MP-5, lighters, nail-cutters and heaters were recovered from their possession.
“Entry and exit points of jails and other arrangements regarding security were checked during the operation,” he said.
